I didn't bug report it but I also tried the live CD on this system and it got messed up looking for a non existent /dev/fd0 (no floppy installed), then when I fixed that with boot options it dumps into the busybox and won't continue.
Seems like Ubuntu 8.xx only wants to work with newer motherboards..
