Bug Description
Installing 14.04.1 LTS server. Same problem reproduced with 14.04 server and 12.04.5 LTS server.
Boot install media either from CD or from USB stick
Boot menu comes up.
Pick install (default) and hit enter.
Select keyboard (en_US), hit enter.
Installer starts and asks about language selection. USB keyboard no longer works. Neither does the keyboard in a serial console connected via the iDRAC6 (I am speculating that the iDRAC6 emulates a USB keyboard).
Your system is now practically hung - the only thing you can do is power cycle.
Workaround (this is how I got the system installed: use https:/
But of course that workaround is problematic if you didn't want to flatten your whole disk and overwrite everything with a brand new Ubuntu install. If there was data you wanted to keep. Oops.
The instructions tell me to file this against debian_installer. Whatever the version is on the latest iso, I think it's 20101020ubuntu318
