I have my Ubuntu server setup with Webmin. (It is a web interface to
manage a server) in that, I have it set to notify me of updates, but not
to do any updating. After I did the manual downgrade of saslauthd, weeks
ago, I have not had a problem of it auto updating everyweek. I just go
in with Webmin, select everyting but sasl*, and install patches. No
problems with it breaking each week, but it is a pain to have to manualy
monitor it so it doesn't get the current (but messed up) sasl.
