Tried the same printer on Feisty (14 Feb. 2007).
The printer still needs a powercycle to continue printing after the first document. Remarkably (?), printing also continues after I put the laptop in suspend: when it wakes up after suspending, printing automagically resumes. I believe the entire USB subsytem is restarted after suspending.
