Sorry, I run the script on my laptop, but I forgot to remove the client.conf (in /etc/cups/) I used as a quick fix to the problem. Specifying in client.conf the line
ServerName <myprintservername>
I am avoiding the local spooling, which seems affected by the problem reported.
Now I've run the script with the configuration (client.conf removed) actually experimenting the problem. It shows correctly device with an ipp address.
