I have googled around and read through https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems, (app-armour doesn't seem to apply to the sparc64 server version) but I am really stuck with this one and am looking for something reasonable to try. What is frustrating is that this did actually work with debian.
