Binary package hint: evince
Evince only prints a "matrix" of any given pdf documents, and I tried very different ones. You see only stripes and points on the printed paper. All pdf documents are printed correctly with Adobe Reader for Linux on the same system.
This happens with different printers, HP Lasjer 6L, HP P1005, brother DCP385C.
