As far as I understood, the problem is, that fixing this bug would require the addition of new packages which have not been tested with lucid, yet and this would be a violation of the release procedure.

IMHO especially for a LTS version just breaking an important server feature (sharing printers) is important enough to make an exception and introduce these packages after the release.

What would be the "official" procedure for doing this?
