Confirmed on 8.10/9.04 with various Sharp and HP Printers.

I believe this is a result of Bug #369711 where instead of Cups sending the document once and telling the printer to make multiple copies, the multiples are put together into one large print job.

So if you send an odd number of pages (say 9 pages, for example) you will end up with page #1 on the back of page #9.

This is only one effect of the problem - another effect is very slow printing of multiple copies. (I just sent 85 copies of a single-page 500k PDF file and it took slightly over 2 hours to reach the printer.)
