Ge-org Brohammer, how did you download the replacement pdftops? Your error_log shows that it has a syntax error, which would mean that your file is corrupted.

sudo cp pstopdf /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstopdf
sudo chmod 755 /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstopdf

Note that Launchpad has a bug marking all plain text attachments as HTML and so displaying and downloading them them with the browser is impossible.
