I am using a clean installation of Ubuntu 18.10. I have the same problem. With a kernel 4.18.0-10.11 it worked for me when I added option size to crypttab. After an update of the kernel to 4.18.0-11.12 the system gives me the same error: "cryptsetup: Waiting for encrypted source device /swapfile..."
