moojix and cmat could you post the debug from your logs ?

You possible don't want to post all of it, just the stuff that seems to be different between boots.

I'm especially interrested to know if it says "trying again". You can see it with:
grep "trying again" /var/log/syslog

In that case please include the whole debug of one of those times you did get it at boot (replace the date and time with the right one :-) ):

grep console-kit-daemon /var/log/syslog | grep 'Aug 30 23:02'
