Comment 61 for bug 284229

Using ubuntu 8.10-i386 server with Cacti / Munin / Horde each of them logging in at least once every 5 minutes, so I'm really bitten by this bug. I have to restart console-kit-daemon once a week to get my system responsible again.

To make it clear: This is a MAJOR bug and it is absolutly UNACCEPTABLE to have a server system rendered unresponsive ONCE a WEEK. If I want to restart services on a weekly basis I can as well use software from redmond...

Now: When is a patch to be expected for intrepid?

Alternative: Give a COMPLETE doc on how to apply the patch. The patched console-kid-daemon with the patch out of this thread won't compile b/c there is no X11 libs available. Guess what, this is a server without x11. What to do?

Fighting with this bugs a few weeks now and my patience is running out....
