Solution:
1. Within CompizConfig Settings Manager enable Viewport Switcher and Desktop Wall.
2. Configure Viewport Switcher: Select the third tab "Desktop-based Viewport Switching" and configure 'move next' to the up scroll button of your mouse and 'move prev' to down scroll button (mine was button 4 & 5).
