It is unfortunately not possible for me to check whether this is still an issue. (I can't enable the "Composite Extension", I get a pop-up that says it is "not available".) (So, I am not in a position to complain if you close this bug.)
I guess one should probably try with a clean install of Intrepid Ibex (8.10) when it is released shortly. Anyone up for it? Does Shift-F10 emulate a mouse-right-click (as I suggest it should) or does it mean "Slow Animations"?
This bug can perhaps be viewed as part of a larger issue: Should the Composite Extensions in Ubuntu follow the accessibility guidelines (and/or other guidelines) defined by the Gnome HIG? (See for example http://library.gnome.org/devel/hig-book/stable/input-keyboard.html.en )
Perhaps we should file a new bug that suggests that the Ubuntu Composite Extensions follow the Gnome HIG? Thoughts, anyone?
Thanks for triaging.
