Comment 2 for bug 996098

My system is up to date, and I'm pretty sure this is a really old bug. I think I had it even before unity, in gnome2/compiz.

I couldn't reproduce as easily again. After poking a lot it happened while I was alt+click dragging a window, it disappeared and I found it in another workspace. Yesterday I could reproduce every single time, after I've noticed the first occurrence.

I've recently(after this bug occurred) installed gnome-panel(classic). I was able to reproduce this bug in all attempts in Gnome Classic, even after fresh reboot. Using the steps described in the bug description.

Try with Gnome Classic. (Just to reinforce it does happen with Unity without GnomeClassic being installed)
