Those who install NVidia's driver using the restricted drivers manager don't need to touch their xorg.conf
Those who install it by hand, or tweak their own xorg.conf will need to to add that option to their xorg.conf

In other words: what card are you using, how did you install its driver, and did you manually alter xorg.conf?

It should "just work"
