Yes I can confirm this. I also was able to run Compiz/Unity with nvidia-173.

So this seems to be nvidia driver related. I'll try to downgrade to nvidias 260 drivers which were used in Maverick. Maybe this could solve the issue.

But there are still really nasty bugs in compiz. Like emerald is not working.
