For building from git, see the link on the bottom of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XorgOnTheEdge. This wiki page also has links to Ubuntu packages, but I don't think the upstream bug fix is included in the ati 6.6.192 package.

If you still have problems, please file a new bug upstream with logs and details from using latest git.
