Comment 2 for bug 603907

Video chip is a intel 815 with just some little 3D so compiz made some tests before falling in metacity. The compiz tests result in some video garbage and when metacity start video is in some unstable state. I see one time a Xserver crash with SIGSEV ! The only way i found to solve is to uninstall compiz pakage, and now my old machine seem to work.

I suggest to have some where a choice: Did you want to try compiz or start immediately with metacity ?
This choice is set at install, automatically reset if compiz fall back into metacity and of course can be manually change, suppose we add a new good video card !
