Yes, we are talking about the same. Meanwhile I found out that this annoying look is already present when I just use the nv drivers instead of the nvidia drivers. (It's a fresh installation, so I've never installed any nvidia or 3D drivers yet). I doubt this is just a compiz problem. Maybe this is some kind of x window problem? If this is just a compiz bug, why should I have the same behaviour then the standard driver without 3D effects too?
