Pedro,

I seem to be experiencing something similar in Natty Narwhal while using TwinView. I don't have animations enabled, but I see some 'screen damage' drawing issues mostly in the top gnome-panel or unity toolbar areas of my screen. I have not seen any issues on my laptop when I have the second monitor disconnected. So far it only happens when using dual monitors, though I'll be on the lookout for anything happening when I'm just using the laptop's LCD.

When maximizing or minimizing a window, sometimes thin borders are left behind. Moving a window over the area seems to clear it up, telling compiz to redraw that 'damaged' area. When *not* using unity, my gnome-panel is highly affected by screen damage not being detected. I can usually mouseover the area, or restart gnome-panel to force a redraw to happen. When I am using unity, the problem affects the toolbar. So far I've not found a good way to force a redraw when using unity, aside from a reboot :-(

There is also an issue with the way Konsole's menu items are being drawn. I've detailed this in bug #750892
