Duplicate status is right (the other 2 issues here are fairly trivial to fix ime) but several work-arounds have appeared in other duplicates of 99740 so i thought i'd help people by mentioning them to save them from hunting around.

In addition to the workarounds already mentioned in this thread it might be worth checking your

Edit - Preferences - Content - Enable Javascript - Advanced - Allow javascript to resize!

Untick this box to prevernt javascript from being able to resize your firefox console to something larger than the desktop screen's boundaries!

I think the flicker is a gstreamer issue to do with ati and nVidia cards (for once intel don't seem to suffer lol) this is something to do with multimedia in a webpage, even if its not on the tab you're currently looking at. A clue would be other multimedia apps flickering but even if the flicker is just on firefox it might be worth trying

Applications - Accessories - Terminal

and type in

gstreamer-properties

on the Video tab change the "Output" from "Auto" to "...(no Xv)" this usually stops the flickering after restarting firefox but if it doesn't then you may want to reset this to "Auto". The "... (no Xv)" pulls the graphics work away from the gpu on the graphics card and makes the cpu do the work instead, although it doesn't seem to mind the extra work at all.

Finally the issue the size of the page being viewed appearing tooo smal - try Ctrl + or Ctrl and roll the mouse wheel. Once it's at the right size then try re-bookmarking the link and it should appear the right size all the time now ;)

Good luck!
Thanks and regards from
Tom :)

PS Tkep 2008-10-13 Violas are great too, my flatmate attempts to slaughter one occasionally but she's getting better and was even in danger of getting a good tune out of it the other week ;)
