nvidia beta drivers 173.08 do not leak memory in Kubuntu 7.10 with geforce go 6200 turbocache 128MB graphics card

here is what you need to do in gutsy before you run nvidia beta drivers installer:

sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia-kernel-common
sudo apt-get install libc6-dev pkg-config xserver-xorg-dev
sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop or sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
