I just replaced my /usr/bin/compiz with the attached one I got from the Ubuntu forum user Jay_Bee ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=556658&page=3 ).

I get a warning, but the "not found" error is gone and my windows wobble again :D

$ compiz --replace
Checking for Xgl: not present.
Checking for texture_from_pixmap: present.
Checking for non power of two support: present.
Checking for Composite extension: present.
Checking for nVidia: present.
Checking for Xgl: not present.
/usr/bin/compiz.real (video) - Warn: No 8 bit GLX pixmap format, disabling YV12 image format
