I must say that window movement is super smooth in Xubuntu 12.10 using compiz_0.9.9~daily12.12.05bzr3517 from Unity Staging PPA, no more stuttering while moving windows across the screen, even when multiple windows are opened.

Now, the problem you added later, related to moving windows while having glxgears running still stands.
