Bug Description
I'm using Xubuntu 12.04 + compiz. Often when I call some menu (context, main, global - it does not matter), it don't fully render. Menu have transparent background and some menu-items. Photo attached.
$ compiz --version
Compiz 0.9.7.8
P.S. sorry for my bad english :)

I get the same in vanilla Ubuntu 12.04 occasionally (Unity session). Menus are either partially rendered or not at all. But the shadow rectangle is always there.

I'm turning "on" animation plugin in ccsm, and longer watching this bug. Bug with transparent "Static application switcher" not gone.
faiwer (faiwer) wrote : | #8 |
I was be wrong. After turning "on" animation plugin, bug changed. Now menu is not transparent, menu - have white bg :) Screenshot attached. I hope you understand my terrible English, sorry :)

faiwer, if you are using the nvidia driver then that is possibly bug 729979.
However with any graphics driver, I think we can say white menus and transparent menus are probably part of the same problem. So still this bug.

faiwer, the problem with white dropdown menus when using compiz 1:0.9.7.

Do you have workarounds with "force complete redraw on intial damage" enabled?
faiwer (faiwer) wrote : | #12 |
Sam Spilsbury (smspillaz), no, workarounds was disabled. I turned on (wtih "force complete redraw on intial damage") - did not help.
Daniel van Vugt (vanvugt), yes I have "295.40-0ubuntu1" too.

I have the same issue, seems that can be solved by unchecking "all_random" in animation.
yellowhat (yellowhat46) wrote : | #14 |
In my case every time I click on a menu (such as chromium menu) it redraws.
Should I fill a new bug report?
Daniel van Vugt (vanvugt) wrote : | #15 |
yellowhat: Sounds like bug 1061475 is closer to your problem.
