In Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon restoring the open applications durgin login no longer works. The auto-save-session setting in dconf-editor does nothing.

How to reproduce:
1. Login to your Cinnamon session
2. Open a few applications
3. Check from dconf-editor that auto-save-session setting is on
4. Log out
5. Log back in
6. Nothing gets reopened

This is a major feature regression and I really it'll get fixed asap. Using Cinnamon without session restore is horrible.
