Idem, but maybe it was a missing internet connexion on another port than HTTP/HTTPS ? My ufw deny ingoing and outgoing connexions except for :

ubuntu@precise:~$ sudo ufw status verbose
Status: active
Logging: off
Default: deny (incoming), deny (outgoing)
New profiles: skip
