Bug Description
Binary package hint: cheese
Cheese does not work at all with my Acer Aspire 9300 (webcam called orbicam - it's the standard acer webcam). When I take a picture the LED by the webcam goes on but the Cheese window just stays gray the whole time. Moreover, the program freezes ~20-30 seconds later.
Running the program from command line yields the following output when trying to take a picture:
(cheese:8211): GLib-GObject-
(cheese:8211): GLib-GObject-
I'm running 8.10 x86_64
Trying to take a picture with when cheese is run as root gives the following:
(cheese:7126): GStreamer-WARNING **: pad source:src returned caps which are not a real subset of its template caps
(cheese:7126): GStreamer-WARNING **: pad source:src returned caps which are not a real subset of its template caps
(cheese:7126): GStreamer-WARNING **: pad video_source:src returned caps which are not a real subset of its template caps
libv4l2: error converting / decoding frame data: v4l-convert: error destination buffer too small
My lsusb says the following for the webcam
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 5986:0100 Acer, Inc OrbiCam
