Thanks for testing the procedure I suggested.

There's no need to reinstall, I just re-tested this on a new Natty installation and was still unable to reproduce the problem.

Since you mention things are now working for you, I'm thinking it might have been a transient problem, something particular to your specific configuration. As the problem is not reproducible, for now I will mark this bug as invalid.

However, if you come across the problem again, and manage to reproduce it (i.e. make it happen) in a reliable way, please reopen the bug (click on the pencil icon next to "status" on the top of this page and set to "New"), and don't forget to include the steps to reproduce the problem.
