I think the short answer is "If there's a port for it, you should have a device to plug into that port".

This could be handled by documentation rather than having the UI display a list (that most people just click past and ignore anyway), though perhaps it would be pretty cool to have a system specific list of hardware displayed ahead of time.

Anyway, I set this to wishlist, seems like a cool feature.
