Apparently, it's not caused by Catfish, but by the thumbnail software of Xubuntu. I don't know which package is responsible of that. If you look the screenshot, you can see the file on the desktop in the background. And there is no thumbnail. Catfish doesn't display the thumbnail because it's not already created by the OS.
