Hitting this with Ubuntu MATE 22.04 iso dd'ed onto a USB stick.
Spotted the grub_platform thingy, then had to wait like ~20 min after the GRUB menu for it to start booting.
Run of the mill legacy (I guess) platform:

Kinda frustrating that the fixes/kludges for both "advanced" EFI and legacy crap "proprietary" systems suddenly make booting an Ubuntu LTS live ISO impossible (not having any hint on what's going on).
