I had also an Ubuntu Eoan iso file from Sept 25 and got a new one now. Both boot fast, but do not behave in the same way. The current Ubuntu sends a notify message to the desktop:
"Network service discovery disabled
Your current network has a .local domain, which is not recommen..."
This notice is not sent to the desktop by the Ubuntu Eoan iso file from Sept 25.
I want to mention this, but am not sure it is related to what I think is a bug in Lubuntu and Xubuntu.
