In summary; my install worked; except
- the third party packages however were not installed,
- the `/var/log/installer` directory did NOT exist thus some metadata was missing from the install etc
Users have the option of
(a) testing their systems, if it was like mine, everything appeared to work perfectly, and they can just add the 3rd party apps themselves & expect no further problems (they're unlikely to notice the missing metadata anyway)
OR
(b) restart install WITHOUT 3rd party apps... then reboot into their new install, and add the third party apps themselves. This option will ensure they have all their metadata (ie. in the future can look up what media they used for install, details of install etc, details that would be missing with alternative (a))
If this isn't changed... Lubuntu (me) could always add a page at
https:/ /discourse. lubuntu. me/c/documentat ion/20
