Gradients not only displayed striped, they are really become striped and they looks like semi-transparent if there is something behind. For example if a shape has a shadow the shadow becomes visible behind the shape.
I have exported Draw and Impress documents to PDF and checked them in:
- Evince.
- PDFedit
- online GoogleDocs viewer
It looks the striped/semi-transparend every time but looks Ok in Adobe Reader.
