Thanks for your answer. According to the fact that the margin problem can only be reproduced with the driver from openprinting-ppds, I change the package to foomatic-db . Unfortunately, concerning the the fact that the driver from Brother is not automatically selected by cups, it is normal in the present that cups prefer opensource drivers in the openprinting database instead of the ones we manually add. The brother-* packages only add new drivers that cups is free to use. This might change in the future if something is done so brother-* packages get automatically installed (bug 234822).
