Hi Ayan, thank you for the support and dedication - I really appreciate it. I've made a couple of tests, on a fresh 12.04 standard 64 bit installation.
- a default data burnt DVD is still unreadable. As already pointed out, it is not even anymore possible to change (nor see) the on-the-fly option
- after applying your PPA, there is no problem at all
So, from my point of view, go on urgently with the patch!
Note: for testing, use a DVD-RW. And resurrect it with:
