with which version of brasero are you seeing this behavior? In Jaunty if you add a folder with hidden folders as default it filters them but if you go to "show the filtered file list" select on the options to not filter hidden files and then click on restore it adds the files and in the second attempt to add folders with hidden files it just do it right away, could you test the same? thanks in advance.

Brasero 0.9.1
I don't see any filter options...
Just report bug: I drag directory from left to right with hidden file inside. The file is not present in disk image after burning. Even if there are some options to change it - this is not good behavior.

do you suggest having that option available per default? adding hidden files per default i mean. Latest brasero version is 2.25.91.1-0ubuntu1 you might want to try what i was saying with that version to see if that is any better, thanks again.

Yes, it should be definitly enable by default.
I can't try latest version (some errors in compilation) so I trust in your word there are that option :)

could you try if that's still an issue in jaunty? the bug should be sent to bugzilla.gnome.org by somebody having the issue

Filtering hidden files by default is wrong.

I had taken a backup of a large 3.2 GB folder and was about to delete the original. Luckily I did a cross-check of every file and found that the hidden files were missing!

To add to my previous point, at the OS level there is no concept of a hidden file.

It is only a convention followed by shells to hide files which begin with a period (.), so as to not spam directory listings. This should be irrelevant to a DVD burner application which used often to create backups.

summary: - Hidden files are not added with directory
+ Hidden files are not added by default
