It turns out the fix for me is not complete. Following a restart This Morning: I still need to use "sudo service bluetooth restart" to get bluetooth working. I will test it again after I see 2.6.38-9 released and will report again. I'll be more thorough in my assessments next time.

Nonetheless I appreciate the efforts being made to fix the bug by Ian et al.
