The problem here is that there seems to me like quite a few reports of "bluetooth not working"; unfortunately many of them are for vastly different hardware devices.

Ideally people should file new, separate bugs for their hardware, using 'ubuntu-bug linux' and answering the questions, the providing a clear description of the symptoms. It seems like there has been many issues with bluetooth this cycle related to various drivers and race conditions in loading these drivers; making sure that easch of those are listed independently against linux with all the necessary information about the exact driver in use (and also including the relevant syslog, usb, etc. info; which using ubuntu-bug automates). As it is, it looks like this bug is fairly hard to work on.

FWIW, I've had issues too, with a different device as well. While everything initially appears to be caused by the gnome-bluetooth or bluez applications, it's really largely a kernel problem in most cases. In the chance that it's not the problem in your case and really introduced by bluez, then the developers looking at your bug can reassign it to the correct package.
