I am not on a Mac or Ubuntu... but I have the same issue on Arch Linux, on a Dell XPS14 with Qualcomm Atheros Communications AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0

Been chasing this issue for weeks...sure would like to know what the fix is when someone finds it.
