I'm updating this severity to serious because this bug prevents us from
building d-i on at least mips and mipsel and is therefore a potential
blocker for the next release of the installer, unless we drop those
architectures from the next beta.

The patch seems to work. If there's any other testing you need before
applying the patch, please let us know.
