Comment 82 for bug 1003950

This bug has been patched, but not actually "fixed". The bug is ages old and it's time we as a community and the development team lay this issue to rest once and for all with a redesigned mechanism for updating, code and all. It's time we fix the solution to get Ubuntu going smoothly for all rather than patch the tire that gets us a little while down the road.

Attached is a hardinfo report on my machine. My machine, which is also suspect to this issue.
