Just for information (no for controversy), I've encountered the same problem under Ubuntu 12.04 with linux kernel 3.2.0-37-generic-pae.
I've just removed the broadcom-sta-common and installed the package broadcom-sta-dkms 5.100.82.112-8.deb from the Debian Wheezy distribution and everything seems to works fine.
I can ping the machine or make a connection through ssh.
Once again, it's just for information, help some users to deal with this problem and possibly help developers to solve this issue.
