"oh by the way".. i was incorrect.. ndiswrapper with generic amd64 inf's is not an alternative at least for me if you want working encrrption and a reliable connection... i'd really like to see either a revert i n the next kernel to the old-firmware-supporting driver, or create symmetric options ie. one module for bcm43xx-legacy and then the new bcm43xx. Wiping out support especially when users are relying on it is not the way to win and keep users. Hopefully someone on the team will give us an update soon.
