Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

Having set LC_COLLATE=da_DK.UTF-8 in /etc/environment, I would expect songs, artists etc. to be sorted A-Z,Æ,Ø,Å. This works for folders in e.g. evolution, but banshee treats 'ø' as 'o' and so forth.

Have you tried to unset LC_COLLATE variable and then check if this issue is still persists? also if you can attach a screenshot of this problem would be appreciated. Thanks!

Unsetting LC_COLLATE does not resolve the problem.
I am attaching two screenshots, taken with LC_COLLATE=da_DK.UTF-8 from banshee and evolution, respectively. As you can see, evolution sorts the folders correctly, with "Å" following "T", whereas banshee does not ("Ø" incorrectly being seen simply as "O").

Tim have you checked if this behaviour is still occurring with release 1.8.0 of Banshee? (sorry for the delayed answer)
