As you can see, more complex queries are taking thousands or tens of thousands of ms. This makes the UI pretty much unusable. To create this log, I started banshee, pressed play (shuffle mode, by track, is selected), pressed next twice, scrolled the artists list, and quit through the Media menu. My library is around 5543 tracks - I would give the precise number, but banshee is taking too long to reload! - and ironically, banshee receives this error when posting usage data, meaning that fewer people see how slow it is being for me:
