I wanted to give the details but I didn't get anything from that side for
long so I gave up. Similar thing happened with my "session lasted for less
than 10 seconds .. " bug or error. Fortunately I thought of creating another
user and then I am using it again but not that much.
My folder name bug or annoyance was this:
Suppose there is a file in a folder/dir in Ubuntu and it's name is something
long:
e.g. " *aaaaa bbbb* ccccccccccccccccccccc
dddddddddddddddddddddddeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.pdf" - a pdf file.
Now when I am using my computer in Gnome then in the a folder or directory I
can either view smaller or medium sized icon or I can just customize the
size of icon. that's fine.
But problem starts with file/folder name. I doesn't get appended to a
shorter visible part of the name neither automatically nor I could find any
manual tweak or option. It shows the full name in the folder which makes it
all look so dirty.
I want it to behave like it behaves in Windows which is - the file name
visible in the folder will be limited to a smaller file name e.g. "*aaaaa
bbb..*" or so from the last example.
I hope, I cleared it this time. It happens with an out of the box Ubuntu
too.
